Frenectomy

I don't really have much to say today but really wanted to move on from the last post.

Grace went to the dentist today and will need to have a frenectomy. My question is, who has had it done and how did it go? Can she eat regularly afterwards or is there healing time involved? Let me know.

In other news, I have a surprise for Justin and emailed him to tell him so. He won't get to find out for another week, therefore, neither will you. It was important, though, to let him know that a surprise is coming so that he can fully enjoy the suspense and excitement of knowing that something great (or not) is coming up. What do you do about surprises in your house?

What is a frenectomy??? never ever heard of it, but for some reason it sounds awful, but that could just be the long scary name.
Good luck and let us know how Grace does and all.

As for surprises, the kids are horrible with them. Or I guess it depends on who the surprise is for. If it's for daddy, they usually say something along the lines of "daddy mommy bought something for you today, I think that it was a ___" or they will answer any questions about it so he can guess what it is. But if it's something for their sibling, they are a little better. I try to remind them that we don't tell someone what we bought them if it's a gift.
But if I have bought something for them like new socks, undies, even barrets, they have to brag about it to everyone they see. And if I try and sneak something that I've bought for myself in the house they are quick to mention it to the whole house or they keep asking me about it, in front of daddy, the little buggers.

The piece of skin that attaches your upper lip to your gums is the frenulum. Grace's is attached between her two front teeth and has created a gap that won't close. This is causing crowding for her other permanent teeth. The dentist will do a little snip (frenectomy) and things will correct themselves (I guess).

The dentist also said that this can be hereditary but I can't think of anyone in our family having the same thing. Anyone??

I'll share whatever it is with whomever can get the secret out of Kitti...

Oh, and I can think of at least one person to whom Grace is related who has an over-frenetic frenulum...

(Three guesses as to who that is.)

How embarrassing for me, I forgot to ask the husband. Oops. Sorry Sweetie -but I really did think we talked about it.

And let me just remind you (you know who you are): people who find out what they are getting as a surprise do not get that surprise. I'm just saying...

That doesn't sound fun; tell Grace we will be sending good thoughts her way. I am glad it isn't as bad as it sounds though, ouch, the mouth heals its self fairly fast, no??
I don't know if anyone else had it when they were younger, mom would know.

Kgordee is the king of surprises, he loves them and they are the best. I am so bad at surprises. I am so last minute about everything that I feel like his birthdays and other special occasions for him are super lame where as he freakin' goes to the moon for me. I comfort myself with the rad 30th birthday I threw him. I wonder how long I can use that.
Really I do strive to be a better surpriser/gift giver but some times those birthdays/special days sneak up on me.

Okay, so J got his surprise: linen pants. Hurray!

He has a conference in LA in two weeks and in addition to looking smokin' hot, I wanted him to stay nice and cool. And now he will be both (the first is a given).
